FUTURE ARCHITECTURE: 2020 CALL FOR IDEAS

Interested in travelling throughout Europe and presenting your work and ideas at the most significant architectural events? The Future Architecture 2020 Call for Ideas is now open. Don’t miss out – be part of the future of architecture!

The Future Architecture Platform invites multi-disciplinary emerging creatives from all over the world with transformative projects related to our living environment to apply to participate in the 2020 European Architecture Program. Apply now before 6 January 2020.

The applications will be judged by the Future Architecture board of members (consisting of high profile institutions, such as museums, galleries, publishing houses, biennials, and festivals), the Future Architecture alumni, and members of the public through online voting.

If selected for Future Architecture 2020, you’ll be invited to participate in the Creative Exchange in Ljubljana, Slovenia (12-13 February 2020) and several other activities within the European Architecture Program. All travel (from within the EU) and accommodation costs for the selected participants will be covered by the platform or platform members. In addition, you’ll be introduced to established institutions and have the opportunity to meet your peers, work together and boost your practice.

Design Biotop l Space and Creative Mindset

This year’s Design Biotop explored the importance of finding creative and inclusive solutions for better economic and social impact on the city development taking sustainability as the core of the development. Digital Communications Strategy Users Guide

In 2017 we have successfully collaborated on a project The Visions of Youth Work, that resulted in creation of a unique Digital Communications Strategy Users Guide. The goal of this free Guide is to build capacities of youth organizations to mobilize the community around youth work by using visual messages and digital communication as a tool. We are glad to work with partners such as BUM (Serbia), Perrevia Network (Greece), Backslash (Spain), Tugeged (Turkey), YEU (Belgium) and Proni (Bosnia) and looking foreward to cooperation on upcoming projects.

Design Biotop l Space and perception workshop

This year’s Design Biotop explored the questions of cultural tourism in Ljubljana, Slovenia. With an experimental participatory workshop, Design Biotop has brought together the City of Ljubljana, its creative individuals and experts from the field of design, architecture and urban planning (selected through the Future Architecture platform – best young creative’s open call). Five first Mag (small)

The Funambulist is a bimestrial printed and digital magazine complemented with a blog and a podcast edited by Léopold Lambert. The three platforms of The Funambulist examine the political relationship between the built environment and bodies. Its subtitle, “Politics of Space and Bodies,” expresses it ambition to bridge the world of design (architecture, urbanism, industrial and fashion design) with the world of the humanities (philosophy, anthropology, history, geography, etc.).
The five first issues of the magazine are respectively dedicated to Militarized Cities, Suburban Geographies, Clothing Politics, Carceral Environments, and Design & Racism.

Léopold Lambert is a Paris-based architect. He is the editor-in-chief of The Funambulist and is the author of several books about the political relationship of architecture and bodies.
